The Daily Post’s photo challenge this week made me think of genealogy and the links between each generation. I put together some photographs of women in my family connected by direct descent, ranging from my great great grandmother, who was born in the Spring of 1846 to my granddaughter, born in the Spring of 2005. That’s seven generations connected through a span of one hundred and sixty nine years, to date.
In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Connected.”

Thanks Eric, and there’s another one on the way. My daughter is expecting a baby girl in November.

I’m the memorabilia hoarder in our family, Dan, ever since I was a child. I love having a connection with the past and there’s nothing like a photograph for doing that.

It is, I was lucky enough to get one of my Great grandfather born 15 MAY 1887 • Torreon Coah which was a blessing since I never got to meet the man.

Great interpretation, Jean! I love the family resemblance between you, your mother, your daughter, and your granddaughter. Lovely women!

Thank you for that lovely comment, Patti. I have always felt that my mother bears a very strong resemblance to her grandmother. I can see it in nearly every photograph of them.

Yes, I can see that too. It’s interesting how in some families the resemblance is striking and in other families, it isn’t. I inherited my mother’s nose and my son has it too!
