Some Thursday Doors from a weekend in Ardara, County Donegal. In 2012 it was voted Ireland’s best village to live in and if you don’t believe me here’s the proof:
Ardara sits on the river Owentocker and is a Heritage Town attracting many visitors each year. We rented a house there in October and loved everything about the place – even the sun shone with not a drop of rain in sight. There was a fabulous view from every window in the house as it was on a hill in the center of the town.
A lot of the shops and businesses had signs in Irish over their doors and some of the pubs held traditional music sessions in the evening.
One last door caught my eye because of the name displayed above it. I think a reader of F. Scott Fitzgerald must live there – or possibly a fan of Robert Redford or Leonardo DiCaprio. 😉
