Thursday Doors – Vienna

Welcome to Thursday Doors, from Vienna this time. In April I spent a few days in this lovely European city with my sisters. The illuminated posters are advertising what’s on display at some of the many galleries and museums dotted around the city.

Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit any of them as there was so much to choose from. Instead, we went on a canal cruise and a trip to Vienna really should include a visit to a concert hall.

We chose a small venue but the sound was amazing and the music ranged from classical to contemporary. Of course they played quite a few of Mozart’s compositions as he spent most of his short life in Vienna. He died there at the age of 35.

Tbe city is really pretty day or night with very well maintained old buildings, many of them converted into apartments like the one we stayed in.

This was our entrance hall
The original lift still in use

There were so many gorgeous doors to choose from. Here’s a small selection.

Thanks for stopping by. My next Thursday Doors will feature some more photos from Vienna and in the meantime, if you’d like to sample some interesting posts from around the world, have a look at what Dan has on his blog this week.

My doors from Vienna won’t appear until late July as I’m still showcasing my French ones.
